Few cyclist know about this fantastic high mountain road bike ride. The Mountain Top Cycling Club will host its fourth annual Mountain Top Experience Ride Saturday June 20th, with a rolling start from 6 AM to 7AM from the Florissant Grange Hall at 2008 CO Rd 31, in Florissant. Walk up registration and packet pickup will be available at 5:00 AM. The Grange will host a breakfast by donation starting at 5:30 AM for a donation to the Grange Hall. There will be packet pickups available at bike shops before the event. Keep checking for location and time updates.
Registration will start at $35 through January. $45 through February, $55 through March , $65 through April, $75 till June 20th. Walk ups will be taken the day of the event.
There are three route options, all with jaw dropping views and climbs. A 106 mile century with over 10,000 feet of elevation gain will take you around Cripple Creek, Victor and Guffey,CO, a 50 mile half century with 4,000 feet of elevation gain and a 75 mile route with 6,000 feet of elevation gain. All routes will leave the grange hall starting from 6 to 7AM. The 75 mile route is the easier of the three options. This is not an event for beginners. It will be fully supported, all on paved roads, should you want to skip a section and sag to the next rest stop.
Free lunch and free massages. Century riders will receive a free commemorative century patch. Free t-shirt or you can opt to save $5 but you must enter SAVE5 coupon code if you do not want the free t-shirt and would like to save $5. Registration is available at Get Event.com., Active.com or you can down load the printable registration page. One per rider. This is a rain or shine event. No refunds.
The after party will be near the Grange Hall, we will offer free beer or a free blue bell ice cream cone on the private patio of Moo’s ice cream snack shop. A great atmosphere to relax and socialize with fellow cyclists.
T-shirts will be guaranteed if ordered before May 1st. Ride jerseys will be available for $65.00 must be picked up event day or packet pick up locations. Order before March 1st to guarantee size and availability. 2014 jerseys will be on sale for $40.00 while supplies last.
The Mountain Top Cycling Club is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. A portion of the proceeds will be given to Teller County Regional Animal Shelter – A No Kill Facility in exchange for volunteer hours. Bikes will be purchased for the Cripple Creek and Victor High School Mountain bike team. There is a 31% homeless and 65% generational poverty rate in this area. Bikes will stay with the CC&V team so that each year they can be used by the team.
There will be EMS dedicated to the event from 6AM to 5PM. State Highway will travel with the cyclists. We will add a vegetarian lunch option and cook to order. More food and snacks at the rest stops. More SAG vehicles and we adjusted the rest stop locations.
