Mountain Top Cycling Club

Woodland Park, CO

Sue and I spent the weekend camping in Golden, riding mile after mile of smooth, paved trails throughout the area, along with a good climb to the top of Red Rocks.  We’re quite impressed with the bike friendly attitude, driver courtesy, and the sheer number of cyclist!  It was common to see several packs of 10+ on the road at once! We camped  along Clear Creek next to downtown, where we easily walked to Main Street shops and eateries.

On Saturday, Lee Burton and I met-up to ride the Mt Zion/Lookout Mountain loop that Lee had proposed.  It was a great ride, much like riding the Westcreek segment (Deckers) for 5-6 miles. However, you don’t have paragliders over your head at Westcreek, or the sheer number of cyclist. Highly recommend racking up some trail miles in Golden, and tackling Red Rocks, or Mt Zion when ready.  Here’s the route Lee and I took.
